Five Teams That Need to Draft a Wide Receiver in Pittsburgh
The 2026 draft class is loaded with pass-catching talent. These five franchises can't afford to let it slip past them.
Wide receiver has quietly become one of the most important positions in football, and the 2026 NFL Draft class is deep enough to reward teams willing to invest early โ or patient enough to find value on Day 2.
Analysts expect the receiver market to develop differently this year. While a select few wideouts are projected to go in the top 15, the consensus is that teams will wait longer than usual to pull the trigger, trusting the depth of the class to deliver starting-caliber talent into the second round and beyond.
But for some franchises, waiting isn't an option.
The Miami Dolphins hold a league-high four picks in Round 3 and could use multiple selections to bolster an offense that needs more weapons. The Chicago Bears, who haven't used a first-round pick on defense since 2018, might surprise by pivoting to a playmaker on offense if the right receiver is available at No. 25.
Las Vegas, even after presumably taking Mendoza at No. 1, desperately needs to surround its new quarterback with pass-catching talent. The Raiders' receiving corps remains one of the thinnest in the league, and failing to address it would undermine the entire rebuild.
Other teams on the clock include the Denver Broncos, who need a legitimate No. 1 target, and the Indianapolis Colts, who are prioritizing depth across the board after injuries decimated their roster last season.
The best draft classes aren't just about the top of the board โ they're about the players who fall. This receiver class could define several franchises for years to come.
